Timothy (Tim) A. Burger, 65, of Bettendorf, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at his residence.
A memorial visitation will be held
Friday, January 16, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf with graveside services to be held at
2:30 p.m.
at Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. Additionally, a public celebration of his life will be held at Governor's Restaurant in Bettendorf at
4:00 p.m.
Tim was born August 29, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Earl & Dorothy (Shaffer) Burger. He graduated from Washington High School, Chicago, Illinois in 1968 and joined the United States Air Force where he served more than 10 years, beginning with his service during the Vietnam War and later as a medical recruiter. He continued working in federal service at the Rock Island Arsenal in Logistics and Computer Programming until he retired in 1991. He was most recently employed as an instructor and staff member at Scott Community College until 2014.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters - Lysa (Robert) Hegland and Krystal-Lyn Burger of Bettendorf, his grandchildren,- Addison and Bryson, his sisters - Earlene (Steve) Malachinski of Chicago and Charlene (Jim) Grinnan of Hinsdale, Illinois, his adoptive brother - Danny Gaskell of Chicago, and many nieces and nephews.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
