Timothy “Tim” Havenhill, 56, a resident of Des Moines, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his home.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Private family burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery in Princeton. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Born on February 17, 1960 in Davenport, Tim was the son of Samuel W. and Lois L. (Shaw) Havenhill.
Tim was a 1978 graduate of North Scott High School and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science from Scott Community College.
Tim worked for Drake University in Des Moines for over 16 years as a duty engineer. He enjoyed Formula One and Indy Car racing, baseball and photography.
Those left to honor his memory include his father, Sam Havenhill of Princeton; brother, Mike (Sheila) Havenhill of Davenport; nieces and nephews, Amber (Amber), Ashley, Justin, Timothy and Shyanne Havenhill.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
