Tina Wiklund

September 17, 1974 — December 25, 2011

Tina K. Wiklund, 37, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1809 Mississippi Blvd. in Bettendorf.  She will be laid to rest at 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the Bethel Mennonite Cemetery in Wayland, Iowa.  Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be used for her children’s education.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born September 17, 1974 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Gordon & Karen (Roth) Watson and was a graduate of the Iowa Mennonite School at Kalona, Iowa.  Following high school, she attended and graduated from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri with a degree in Interior Design.

Tina was employed as a commercial interior designer for Pigott Commercial Interiors for the past thirteen years.

On June 3, 2005, she was united in marriage to Peter D. Wiklund at Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf.  Tina & Peter were active members of Asbury and led the youth group at the church.

She was an outgoing, energetic person and formerly belonged to the Quad-City Rowing Club.  The sadness of her loss will be felt by many, but the beautiful memories she created will live forever in the hearts of those who knew & loved her.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Peter; her beloved children, Sophie & Hudson; her parents, Gordon & Karen Watson of Washington, Iowa; her brothers, Todd (Kate) Watson of Dallas, Texas and Paul (Mary) Watson of Lone Tree, Iowa; her nieces, Caitlin Ford, Chloe Watson, Sydney Watson and Abigail Watson; and many other relatives and wonderful friends.
