Truman Landers Schrage, 90, of East Moline died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Aspen Rehab and Health Care in Silvis, IL.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Children’s Home in Waverly, IA.
Born on October 31, 1923 in Charles City, IA, Truman was the son of Ernest William and Frieda Louise (Landers) Schrage.
Truman was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 150 in Rock Island. Following his retirement, he purchased a portable saw mill and provided on-site custom sawing.
Truman enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, guns, hunting, bicycle riding and canoeing. He was an elder and member of Holy Spirit Church in East Moline.
Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Aletha (Elmer) Boie of Cedar Rapids and many friends from church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
