Twyla Frahs

Twyla R. Frahs, 81, of Bettendorf, died Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her home in Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Davenport.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf and one hour before the services on Friday at the church.  Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church

Twyla was born July 2, 1933 in Grand Mound, Iowa, the daughter of Howard B. & Clara B. (Norenberg) Buhmann.  She was united in marriage to Richard D. Frahs on February 10, 1951 in Davenport.  He preceded her in death on December 31, 2010.

Twyla was an accomplished seamstress and will be remembered for her cooking and baking, especially her pecan rolls.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Denise (Jim) Petersen, Davenport, Iowa and Sheryl (Doug) Phillips, Riverton, Iowa; her son, Mark (Melissa) Frahs, Bettendorf, Iowa; her grandchildren, Kristi (Jason) Jergens, Kimberly (Aaron) Stueve, Kathryn (Daron) Blackman, Brian Frahs, Sara (Nate)Folker, Benjamin Phillips and Nicholas Phillips; her great-grandchildren, Quintin Stueve, Addisyn Stueve, Kasadie Jergens, Jaydden Jergens and Ella Blackman; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Twyla was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Ruth Clemmens and Jayne Copeland.
