Vera R. Schlemmer, 77, a resident of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 of Alzheimer’s at the Cloudas Group Home for Adults in Davenport.
Vera was born April 16, 1928 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew & Maude Mae (West) Wright. She married Eugene C. Farrell Sr. and later married Marvin Schlemmer.
Vera loved being a waitress at the Bell Eat Shop in Davenport, the Edgetowner Restaurant in Mt. Joy and Harlan’s Fine Foods in Davenport.
All of her relatives, friends, former customers and coworkers are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at 12:00 Noon Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the Enchanted Inn, 4815 S. Concord St., Davenport.
McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Those left to honor her memory include her sister, Virginia Hade; eight children & their spouses, Nancy Marie & George Adler, Gene Farrell Jr., Kathleen & Darren Saalens, Dianna & Ed Wisham, Debbie & Bill Behrens, Dennis Farrell, Janet & Doug Koehler and Terry Farrell; twenty-three grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James and Charles Wright; her sister, Mary Ellen Wright; her son, Bill Farrell; and both of her husbands.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Cloudas Group Home for Adults in Davenport.
