Vincent Hunt

Vincent L. Hunt, 86, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Friday, November 4, 2011 at Manor Care Utica Ridge in Davenport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf where he was a member and sang in the church choir. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the church.

Vincent was born on August 31, 1925 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of Leonard C. and Marie E. (Schumaker) Hunt. On June 12, 1945 he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Shane in Galesburg, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2006.

Vincent worked for the Alcoa Company in their Maintenance Engineering Division. He retired in 1986 after 37 years of faithful service.

His memberships included the Alcoa Gun Club and the Alcoa Retirees Club. In addition, he was a member of the Chordbusters Barber Shop Singers Organization and was an avid bowler as well

Those left to honor his memory include: his daughter, Donna (Steve) Hunt-Dusse of Woodside, California; his sons, Gary (Cheryl Packer) Hunt of Erie, Illinois and, Wayne (Judy Welch) Hunt of Palm Desert, California, Bruce (Amy) Hunt of Coal Valley, Illinois and Dean (Lisa) Hunt of Ben Lomand, California; many grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and his sister, Marilyn Lohmann of Bettendorf.

In addition to his wife, Vincent was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Natalie Hunt and his parents.
