Viola M. "Vi" Millick died
Sunday
afternoon the 27th of July 2014 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility after a brief illness. She was 87.
She was born in the small town of Wien in northeast Missouri on St. Patrick's Day of 1927. Mrs. Millick grew up in Wien and graduated from Marceline High School.
A middle child with two brothers and two sisters, she traveled to Davenport, Iowa to be close to her older brother William, who had moved to Davenport. Hard working and energetic, she had a variety of jobs while residing in the Quad Cities. The one she talked most frequently of was at Crescent Macaroni and Cracker Company in Davenport, where she loaded boxcars.
On Thursday, the 19th of July 1956, Viola Noll married Hubert "Hugh" Millick in the Little Brown Church in Nashau, Iowa, and they made their home in Bettendorf. Vi was a homemaker and avid bowler. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with friends and loved animals, dogs especially were drawn to her.
Mrs. Millick was preceded in death by husband Hugh, parents Henry & Urah Noll, and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by son Jim Millick of Davenport, daughter Linda Plummer and son-in-law William Plummer of Bettendorf.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, from
4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014

The family asks that memorials be made in her name to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan, Illinois.
The family would also like to acknowledge the staff of Iowa Masonic Health Facilities. We owe special gratitude to Julia who let Mom deliver newspapers with her, Laura, who always seemed to be there exactly when we needed her, nurses Roger, Terri, and Jodi.
