Violet A. Miller, 97, a resident of Davenport, Iowa and formerly of Centerville, Iowa died on Monday, July 13, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Davenport.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice.
She was born February 11, 1912 in Darby, Iowa, the daughter of Luther & Orah (Beach) Day.
For many years, Violet owned & operated a beauty shop in Ely before moving to Davenport some years ago.
Violet spent many enjoyable hours sewing, quilting & crocheting and treasured the times spent with her beloved family.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Marilyn Manganello of Ely, Iowa, Natalie (Ron) Proffitt of Bettendorf and Gail Bales of Davenport; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
Her daughter, Marlene, her son, Richard, three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
