Violet M. Metcalf

Violet M. Metcalf, 89, of Belen, New Mexico and formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Those wishing to attend the services should meet at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday. Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 7 at the funeral home. Additional services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church of Belen.
Violet Wright was born November 3, 1918. She was united in marriage to James W. Metcalf on October 12, 1946 in Fairfield, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1974. She had been a resident of Belen for the past four and a half years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belen. In addition to enjoying her time at the church, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and various crafts.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen & John Dugan, of Belen; her son, Jimmy Metcalf, of Belen; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, James; she was preceded in death by her daughter, Doris; and her son, Wesley.
