Virginia L. France, 76, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at her home after an extended illness.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 15, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born December 1, 1933 in Grafton, North Dakota, the daughter of Charles & Nola (Edwards) Berard. In 1956 she was united in marriage to Bernard Vroman in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death in July of 1966. On January 26, 1968, she was united in marriage to Loran France in Morrison, Illinois.
In earlier years, Virginia worked as a sales clerk for eight years at the former Younker’s Department Store at Duck Creek in Bettendorf
Virginia was a devoted wife, mom & grandma and was also an accomplished artist, painting in oils & charcoal.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Loran; her daughters, Mona (Mike) Parks of Spokane, Washington, Theresa France of Burke, Virginia, Debbie Thomas of Bettendorf, Wanda France in Louisiana and Colleen France of Bettendorf; her son, Daniel (Chris) France of Davenport; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sisters, Judith (Robert) Guinn and Susan Holmes, both of Davenport; and her brother, Kenneth Berard of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Her parents preceded her in death.
