Virginia M. Miller, 89, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Friday, July 30, 2004 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 2, 2004 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour before services Monday. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
She was born September 12, 1914, the daughter of William & Sarah (Schultz) Livingston. On October 8, 1938, she was united in marriage to Frank Joseph Miller in Bettendorf. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1980.
Virginia retired in 1972 after 22 years of employment at the Rock Island Arsenal.
She was a graduate of Brown’s Business College and a former member of the Davenport Eagles Lodge.
In her leisure time she enjoyed playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles. She loved her soap operas on television and enjoyed watching movies as well.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Marjorie VanWinkle of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Victoria Neitzel & her husband, Robert of Davenport, Jeff VanWinkle of Bettendorf and Jennifer VanWinkle of Bettendorf; her great-grandchildren, Amber Neitzel of Bettendorf and Nicole Neitzel of Davenport; and her great-great-granddaughter, Hope.
