Wanda J. Rappa

Wanda Joann Rappa, 76, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at Trinity at Terrace Park Hospital, Bettendorf.
Private family services will be held. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the American Cancer Society. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born February 11, 1929 in Floyd, Iowa, the daughter of Freeman & Clara (Freitag) Gilmore and was married to John Michael Rappa in Sherman Oaks, California.
Wanda was a registered nurse, receiving her nurse’s education & training in Des Moines, Iowa. For 25 years, she was employed in the office of Dr. Wahl in North Hollywood, California. In 1992, she retired and moved to Iowa.
Those left to honor her memory include her sisters, June Werlein of Bettendorf, Darlene Gau & her husband, Don of Davenport and Dorothy Curry of Carlsbad, California; her sister-in-law, Mary Gilmore of Bettendorf; her nieces & nephews, Dianne (Eshelman) & Ken Guldenpfennig of Moline, Illinois, Rick & Kathleen Eshelman of Davenport, Vaughn & Karen Werlein of Bettendorf, Tim & Jodee Gau of Davenport, Lynne (Gau) & Rick Lorenzen of Davenport and Lucretia (Gilmore) DeVrieze of Davenport; and several great-nieces & great-nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Melford Gilmore; her brothers-in-law, Melvin Werlein and Robert Curry; and by her parents.
