Wannetta K. Baker, 64, of LeClaire, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Manor Care Utica Ridge in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Calvary Chapel Church in LeClaire where she was a member. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory.
Wannetta was born April 12, 1947 in Corydon, Iowa, the daughter of Carl & Etta (Powell) Baker and was a graduate of Bettendorf High School.
She retired earlier this year from the Rock Island Arsenal, TACOM as a Procurement Specialist. In earlier years, she had been employed with Eagle Signal in Davenport.
She had attended Mt. Vernon Bible College in Ohio, St. Ambrose University and Scott Community College. She was also a former member of the Good News Singers. Wannetta’s faith and love of the Lord were a very important part of her life.
Wannetta loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews who were very special to her. She will be missed by many.
Those left to honor her memory include her sister and brother-in-law, Wanda & Dick Wilson of Cocoa Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ernest Baker.
