Warren was born November 3, 1940 in Oswego, New York, the son of LeRoy and Aleta (Miller) Hodge. He graduated from the University of Miami and later attended Babson College earning his MBA. Warren proudly served his country in the Vietnam conflict and the Cold War, receiving many distinguished honors. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1991 after 28 years of active duty at the rank of Colonel. He continued working as a contractor for the U.S. Army at Rock Island Arsenal.
He married Susan (Oates) Myers in 2019, and they enjoyed their time together working on their house, following politics, watching football (go Chiefs and Hawkeyes) and sharing many laughs and good times.
Warren actively participated in the North Scott Rotary, the North Scott Fitness Center (now North Scott YMCA) and he enjoyed time at Bible study with friends from Cornerstone Baptist Church. He walked 5 miles on a daily basis and achieved the goal of walking the circumference of the earth as he had tracked his miles! He had a big passion for deer hunting and was an avid reader.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his son, Warren Paul of Alabama; his daughter, Jennifer Day (David) of Ohio; his step-son, Christopher Myers (MaryBeth) of Davenport; his sister, Carol of Florida; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Scott Rotary, as a scholarship will be established in Warren’s name. He was very interested in the future of our youth and proudly supported the growth of youth in our community. The family is grateful to the staff of Genesis East ICU and their loving care in his final days.
