Wayne Alan Boozer, 62, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Mary’s Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Davenport.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4-7 PM Monday March 10, 2014 at Jeno’s Little Hungary, 4908 N. Pine Street, Davenport, IA 52806.
Wayne was born on June 30, 1951 in Ohatchee, Alabama, the son of Joe Boozer and Carolyn (Pentecost) Boozer. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1969, Jacksonville State University in 1973, and Auburn University in 1979. He served as an officer for the US Army from 1974 until 1977. Wayne retired in June 2012 from the US Army where he served as a DA civilian for over 30 years with his most recent position being an engineer assigned to ARDEC at the Rock Island Arsenal. He married Mary Killen in 1980, they had four children together. He later married Joanne Fleener in 1995.
Wayne enjoyed science and engineering, attending auctions, NASCAR, and watching Auburn Football. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Carolyn, of Moody, AL; his children, Stephanie Boozer (Patrick) James of Davenport,IA, and sons Stephen Boozer of Bettendorf, IA and Scott Boozer of Davenport, IA; and brothers Ken (Luann) Boozer of Clay, AL and Steve (Linda) Boozer of Moody, AL
He was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl, his father, and an infant daughter, Theresa.
