Wayne was born August 24, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Sturtridge) Zimmerman.  He married the love of his life, Renee Wisecarver, on February 21, 1970 in Fairfield, Iowa.

He was a music lover who also enjoyed being outdoors, biking, water skiing, camping, and manning the BBQ with his family.  Wayne enjoyed his dog Ozzie, with whom he took long walks and volunteered with Caring Canines.

Wayne graduated from Fairfield High School in 1966.  He retired this year from ALCOA and held a business administration degree from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, and also attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Ia.  Wayne served in the Army from 1968-1971.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Renee Zimmerman of Bettendorf; three sons: Brandon of Moline, Spencer (Jennifer) of Bettendorf, and Grant (Kristina) of Moline; his sister Mary “Mame” Sage of Bettendorf; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his best friend Ozzie.  Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
