Wesley W. Kuehl, 84, of Eldridge, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge. Burial will be in Durant Cemetery in Durant, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6th at the church. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, the Eldridge Volunteer Fire Department or to Medic EMS of Eldridge. Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wesley was born May 27, 1931 in Davenport, the son of L.W. & Elsie (Schaff) Kuehl. He was a 1949 graduate of Davenport High School and served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.
Wesley was united in marriage to Ann C. Roehlk on July 9, 1961 in Davenport. He was a Scott County dairy farmer, retiring in 1976. He then was a sales representative for Hockenberg’s. Wesley was a life-long member of the Knights of Pythias and had been a member of the Eldridge Lions Club. He had been active in 4-H and enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals. Wesley was an avid card player, playing with family and friends.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Ann; his daughters and sons-in-law, Jayne & Mike Dant of Washington, Illinois, Joni & Jim Schneider of Long Grove, Iowa and Mary Beth & David Heimendinger of Scarville, Iowa; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew & Mary Kuehl of Powell, Ohio; his grandchildren, Anna and Jamie Schneider, Adam and Zoe Heimendinger and Kathryn and Lola Kuehl; and his sister, Betty Dexter of Park View, Iowa.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Velma Keppy and Jeannette Blunk.
