Wesley Reese

Wesley Mart Reese, 55, of DeWitt, surrounded by his loving family, went home to his Savior on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. at DeWitt United Methodist Church on Monday, December 3, 2018. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to establish a scholarship for nursing students in Wes' name.

He was born August 11, 1963 in Iowa City, the son of Larry D. and Adele (Geisendorfer) Reese. Wes was united in marriage to Connie J. Mott on March 28, 1987 in Pleasant Valley.

Wes was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years with Mercy Hospital in Clinton and Genesis Medical Center in Davenport. His love for Jesus was reflected in his dedication to his patients, which was recognized by him receiving 2 Daisy awards. Wes earned his BSN from Grand Canyon University and had been a clinical instructor with Eastern Iowa Community College.

Wes' first priority was his family. He touched many lives and was always willing to help those in need. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, mowing lawn, and time spent with family and friends.

Left to honor his memory include his wife of 31 years, Connie; daughters, Tasha Reese and Charity (Devin) Lindsey; grandson, Wesley William Seeman; father, Larry (Gail) Reese; mother, Adele Reese; sister, Gailia Spenner; brother, Dirk (Melissa) Reese; mother-in-law, Ardith Mott; and his nieces and nephews.

Wes was preceded in death by his grandparents; his good buddy and father-in-law, Don Mott; and his pup Bailey.
