Wesley Sagers

Wesley Sagers, 72, of LeClaire, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 in LeClaire.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Jack’s Cemetery in LeClaire.  In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to the Jackson County Iowa Historical Society, Maquoketa Caves State Park or to Our Savior Presbyterian Church of Argo, Iowa.

Wesley was born November 16, 1942 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Paul & Nettie (Edwards) Sagers. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War.   He was united in marriage to Paula Klein on October 6, 1967 in Davenport, Iowa.

Wesley was retired from Alcoa where he was a machinist for many years.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  A master woodworker, he had also crafted knives.  Wesley enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Paula; his daughter and son-in-law, Jill & Ray Wijangco of Naperville, Illinois; his son and daughter-in-law, Brett & Jane Sagers of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Megan and Morgan Sagers and Carter, Max and Owen Wijangco; his sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn & Bob Caven of Maquoketa and his brother and sister-in-law, Lane & Berna Sagers of Maquoketa.

Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Lou Martin; and his brother, Gary Sagers.
