William Kane

William L. “Bill” Kane, 79, of Princeton, Iowa, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 in Princeton.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 18th from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Princeton. Memorials may be made to the family.

Bill was born February 28 1937 in Newton, Iowa, the son of Lenard & Zella (Woods) Kane.  He was united in marriage to Audrey C. Soenke on September 25, 1971 in Camanche, Iowa.  She preceded him in death on October 21, 2007.

Bill had owned and operated Bill’s Interior Wall & Ceiling Service in Princeton for many years.  He also managed Riverview Apartments in Princeton.

Those left to honor Bill’s memory include his step-children, Cathy (Dan) Rockwell of West Palm Beach, Florida, Craig Meincke of Davenport and Bruce Meincke of Princeton; a step-grandson, James Meincke; step-great-grandchildren, Zachary, Alyssa & Kierstyn; his sisters, Carolyn Sue Swanson of Davenport, Connie (Charles) Fleetwood of Bettendorf and Verna Goddard of Escondido, California; his brothers, Marvin Kane of Bettendorf and Danny (Shireen) Kane of Woodhull, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Audrey, Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his half-sister, Betty; his brother, Larry; half brothers, Jack and Richard; his grandson, Levi Hamilton; and his brother-in-law, Wayne Swanson.
