William Lewis Meyerhoff, 56, a resident of Long Grove, Iowa died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Long Grove Cemetery, Long Grove, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family.
William was born June 11, 1955 in New Hampton, Iowa the son of Louis and Betty (Roethler) Meyerhoff.
He worked as a machine operator at the John Deere Davenport Works for 34 years.
He was a member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) and the John Deere Union. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Amy (Colin) Mangan, Davenport, Iowa and Tina (Jason) Ferrel, Davenport; his grandchildren, Gabriel and Lily; his parents, Louis and Betty Meyerhoff, Dubuque, Iowa; his sisters, Sheila (Richard) Martens, Lime Springs, Iowa, Karla (Brian) Leichty, North Liberty, Iowa and Brenda (Tom) Huff, Cascade, Iowa; his fiancée, Dee Dague, Long Grove; his dog, Abbie and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his sister, Debbie Voves and several aunts and uncles.
