William E. Haines

William E. Haines, 68, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 4, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his mother, Betty Raple.
He was born December 13, 1941 in Davenport, the son of Harold & Betty (Stahr) Haines. He was united in marriage to Donna J. Hicks and was later united in marriage to Carrie Hildebrandt who preceded him in death.
Bill worked for the City of Davenport in the Sanitation Department for many years prior to retirement.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching professional wrestling and playing bingo.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, LaDonna Haines of Davenport, Billy Jo Haines of Bettendorf, Iowa, Sharon Tellez of East Moline, Illinois and Heather Bowdre of Muscatine, Iowa; his sons, William Haines Jr., Robert Haines and Rodney Haines, all of Davenport, James Haines of Seattle, Washington and Bradley Haines of Silvis, Illinois; his mother, Betty Raple of Davenport; 27 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his step-children, Carrie Durham in Georgia, Jerry Hildebrant in Florida, Priscella Greenman of Rock Island, Illinois, Vernon “Junior” Smith of Moro, Illinois and Patricia Hutcheson of Davenport; his sister, Cathleen Buffington of Davnenport; and his brother, Henry Haines of Davenport.
His sister, Kimberly Raple preceded him in death.
