William H. Rodgers, 95, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Friday, September 10, 2004 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf, Iowa where he was a member. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Kahl Home for the Aged, Davenport, Iowa or to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
He was born January 2, 1909 in Bound Brook, New Jersey, the son of James & Sarah (Simpson) Rodgers. He married Catherine D. Loos in Astoria, Long Island, New York on June 11, 1933. She preceded him in death in May of 1987. He later married Helen E. (Mulroy) Coughlin. She preceded him in death in August of 2003.
Mr. Rodgers worked for American Machine & Metals in East Moline, then for the American Air Filter, retiring in 1966. He then joined the Alter Company as Industrial Relations Manager, retiring again in the mid-eighties.
Survivors include his daughters & sons-in-law, Catherine & Steven Ingles, Susan & Chris Adkins, Carol & Dale Boomershine and Nancy & Frank Stastney; his son & daughter-in-law, James & Diane Rodgers; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his step-daughter, Pat Metcalf & her husband, Don; and his step-son, Michael Coughlin & his wife, Dr. Lori Coughlin.
In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
