William J. Mayes

William J. Mayes, 71, of Buffalo, Iowa, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 14, 2005 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo. Memorials may be made to the family.
Bill was born July 6, 1934 in Ava, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Patricia S. Osborn on November 22, 1958 in Davenport, Iowa.
Bill was employed as a crane operator for the former J.I. Case Company in Bettendorf. He retired in 1987 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his beloved granddaughters.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Patty; his daughter and son-in-law, Anna L. & Troy Manes, of Davenport; his son and daughter-in-law, William P. & Jodie Mayes, of Blue Grass, Iowa; and his granddaughters, Lanna Manes, Courtney Coopman, and her husband, Brian, and Abbie Manes.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie; and his aunt Margaret.
