Willis C. Baker

Willis C. Baker, 77, of Bettendorf, died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at his home.
Per his request there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bill was born December 23, 1928 in Moira, New York, the son of Willis & Ruth (Murphy) Baker. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1950 and served in the Second Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Violet M. Parks on September 4, 1954 in Muscatine, Iowa.
Bill retired from Alcoa Works in 1989 with 40 years of service. He began his service with Alcoa in Massena, New York, and later transferred to Bettendorf
He enjoyed working in his yard, reading, traveling, and the company of his dogs and cats.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Violet; and many cousins and friends.
