Winola F. Marion, 90, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Davenport Lutheran Home in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Rock Island National Cemetery. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf.
Winola was born October 1, 1925 in Geneseo, Illinois, the daughter of Herbert L. & Florence G. (Santee) Felske. She was united in marriage to Otto W. Marion on April 29, 1942 in Canton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2001.
A homemaker and charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Winola was known to make phone calls to members celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Her artistic talents included making ornate candles and pheasant feather hats. She was determined and tough but big hearted with family and friends alike.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons and daughters-in-law, Otto H. “Bud” (Sue) Marion of Bettendorf, and Clyde K. (Kathy) Marion of San Diego, California; grandsons, Michael A. and Otto C. Marion; great-grandson, Nathaniel C. Marion; sister, Leona Tramutolo of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law, Shirley Felske of Sun City, Arizona; several nieces and nephews; and her guardian angels, Judy and Dr. Max Goodwin, Frieda (Jindresek) Houldsworth, and Eleanor Lohf.
In addition to her husband, Otto, Winola was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Lybarger and Jeanette Price; brothers, Clarence, Herbert and Ralph “Joe” Felske; and grandson Bradley Marion.
