Yvonne A. Donnelly

Yvonne A. Donnelly, 83, a resident of Bettendorf died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf with a Christian wake service to be held at 4:00 P.M. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Quad City Diabetes Association, Moline, Illinois or the Bettendorf Public Library.
Yvonne was born December 22, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Eugene and Anna (Nedved) Vyhnanek. She was united in marriage to John D. “Jack” Donnelly on May 28, 1949 in Forest Park, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1993.
Yvonne was a graduate of the nursing program at Oak Park Hospital in Chicago. She worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital (now Genesis Medical Center, East Campus) in Davenport for around thirty years.
She was a member of the Quad Cities Diabetes Association and an avid reader of news.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, John (Susie) Donnelly, Evans, Georgia and Michael Donnelly, Bettendorf; her three grandchildren, Jill, Abby and Kelsey and her sister Pat (Wayne) Scherschel, Helper, Utah.
In addition to her husband, Jack she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Eugene.
