Zachary Francis

Zachary William Francis, 22 of LeClaire, Iowa, died Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A memorial gathering celebrating his life will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday October 3, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials made to the family.

Zachary was born June 22, 1995, in Davenport. He was the son of Stephanie and Jamie Fisher, and George Kensinger.

Zachary was a 2013 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School. He was most recently employed at McDonald’s in maintenance. Zachary was a hockey fanatic, finding passion in playing Dekhockey, and was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, the Quad City Mallards, and NASCAR, watching Dale Earnhardt Jr. Zach enjoyed spending time with his cousins, and listening to all genres of music. Most of all, Zachary will be remembered as being very compassionate and caring.

Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Stephanie and Jamie Fisher of LeClaire, and George Kensinger of Moline; sister, Tiffany (Patrick) Beigart; brother, Matthew Fisher; grandparents, Charles Horton of Junction City, Illinois, and Bill and Pat Fisher of LeClaire; aunts and uncles, Charles E.F. Horton of Davenport, Stacey (Nick Gambleton) Horton of Davenport, Melissa (Andres Smith) Reyes of Davenport, and Melissa (Dan) Ion of McCausland; cousins, Amanda (Zach Ralfs) Ion, Maddie (Bailey Trude) Ion, Lilliana Smith, and Salissya Gambleton; along with friends, Jennifer, Terry, Abby, and Justin Cary.

Zachary was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Charles and Vera Horton, and William and Elizabeth Francis; grandmother, Terri Francis-Horton.
