Marvin Clemons, 87, of Bettendorf, passed away Tuesday June 18, 2013, at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Friday June 21, 2013, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Marvin was born November 12, 1925, in Pleasant Valley, the son of Franklin and Rosa (Meyer) Clemons. On January 15, 1950, Marvin married Evelyn Hamby in Pleasant Valley. Marvin was a farmer and worked in the transportation industry.
Marvin devoted his life to his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, taking pictures, bird watching, and traveling.
Marvin will be remembered by his wife Evelyn Clemons, Bettendorf; six daughters: Carol (Michael) Kuster, Loudon, TN, Judy (Gary) DuMont, Anthem, AZ, Jeri Clemons, Moline, Kathy Behan, Oviedo, FL, Kim Whitesell, Anthem, AZ, and Lori (Dan) Irons, Wapello, IA; son Marvin (Julie) Clemons Jr., Las Vegas, NV; twelve grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren (12 th on the way); and a sister, Alice Dailey, Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Frank and Ben Clemons; and sister Charlotte Mohr.
