Susan was born on September 26, 1946, the daughter of William and Ann Marie Hunt. She married Richard “Dick” Zirbes at Lake Tahoe in 1974.
A life-time resident of the Quad Cities, Susan graduated from Central High School in Davenport. After retirement from McGraw Hill Construction in 1992, she loved spending time in her garden and making floral arrangements.
Spoiling her Yorkshire Terriers, Max and Maggie, was one of her biggest treats. She loved traveling with her husband and son. Susan’s greatest sunshine is her son, Frank and his accomplishments. She was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Davenport. Susan’s loving husband and son will dearly miss her footsteps around the house.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Richard “Dick” Zirbes; son, Frank Fritz; sister, Linda (David) Barker of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law, I’Lee (Richard) Unzedl of Cincinnati, OH; three nieces and many great nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her long-time friend, Lynda Sharpe of Davenport, who has provided her with support and care for many years.
